The Diamond State Roller Girls built an early lead and never looked back, as they topped Harrisburg Area Roller Derby, 180-44, in a home bout on Saturday, June 19.
Diamond State led 11-0 after the first jam, as veteran Lolli Dagger started things off for the home squad. From there, Diamond State used several strong jams from Leslie B Gangsta, team captain Ali Kaholic, and Lady Lala to build a 107-16 halftime lead.
The victory comes after a rough outing in their last bout, a lopsided road loss to the Garden State Rollergirls. However, Saturday’s bout saw a different story unfold, as Diamond State showed blocking consistency throughout each lineup. DSRG veteran and co-captain Twisted Tinkerbell made her derby return after a 20-month absence. She, along with a host of Diamond State Roller Girls (Lucky Charm, Zoomz Byda Boomz, Ali Kaholic, Bamma Slamher, and Collene Oscopy, among others).
In her final match of the season, Leslie B Gangsta was named the bout’s Most Valuable Player. The Diamond State Rollergirls are back in action next weekend at the East Coast Extravaganza (June 25-27). They return to the Christiana Skating Center on July 18 to bout the Dutchland Blitz.
